From our rail headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as our satellite locations and mobile units that operate on a nationwide footprint, we repair and clean virtually all types of railcars containing a comprehensive range of non-hazardous, hazardous and food grade products and wastes. From our environmental headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, we offer a vast array of industrial maintenance, environmental and waste management services including high pressure water blasing, industrial cleaning, hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, product destruction, lab packing, universal waste handling, metal recycling, waste transfer, waste bulking and storage, and DOT, OSHA and RCRA safety training.

Mile Rail's flagship rail location is centrally location in the nation's second busiest rail hub, in Kansas City, Missouri. With over 33,000 linear feet of track on over 50 acres, we have the scale and flexibility to efficiently deliver on a wide range of projects. At the same time, we offer comprehensive mobile repair and cleaning services based on our clients' unique needs. Mile Rail's flagship environmental locaiton is centrally located in Indianapolis, Indiana, where we cover a broad and growing Midwest and national footprint.

Although we are young at heart, our experience speaks to years of expertise in rail and environmental operations, environmental science and law, and waste management. Our in-house leadership has:
- Worked for some of the largest permitted hazardous waste disposal facilities in the U.S.
- Led established industry railcar repair shops
- Operated one of the largest hazardous waste transfer facilities in the Midwest
- Managed one of the busiest freight yards for a Class 1 railroad

Every business has a legal responsibility to ensure the health and safety of its employees and other affected stakeholders. However, we believe the right approach isn’t just about doing the minimum required to comply; it is about truly embracing what is right. Furthermore, all of our staff receives on-going training to ensure the most up to date environmental, health and safety compliance, and the majority of our staff is 40 hour OSHA trained. Finally, we embrace a zero incident policy culture. Our safety statistics speak for themselves, with no lost time incidents on record.
Mile Rail also takes its responsibility to the environment seriously. We promote a green philosophy of beneficial reuse and waste-to-energy as a means of waste disposal. Our goal is to minimize waste in landfills and minimize liability for our clients. Greater than 80% of wastes generated at Mile Rail are integrated into beneficial reuse, off-prime re-use, waste-to-energy or equivalent recycling programs.
