Mile Rail provides full service universal, hazardous, non-hazardous and electronic waste management services. We specialize in characterizing, packaging, transporting, disposing and recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous regulated wastes, and in helping generators find alternative uses to their waste streams. We also assist in the management and good housekeeping of drum pads, waste storage areas, lockers, laboratories or utility corridors. Our programs minimize our clients’ organizational labor and material handling costs, as well as their exposure to hazardous chemicals and other related liabilities. Some examples of waste managed by our team include:
Small or large quantity reagent chemicals may pose significant risk when their shelf life has expired, labels are missing, or they have been improperly stored. Mile Rail offers a complete range of lab pack services compliant with 40 CFR Parts 26 – 270. All technical personnel have the knowledge and experience to complete both routine and highly specialized projects in a safe and cost effective manner. As part of our process we take a complete inventory of the materials to be discarded, perform in field compatibility studies, and package, label, transport and dispose of subject materials. Highlights of our program include:
Mile Rail manages a wide variety of non hazardous solid and liquid wastes in both bulk and non-bulk form. Once onsite, our team determines the best disposal solution in conjunction with the desires and preferences of our customers. In some cases solids are bulked while in other cases liquids and sludges are solidified and sent for final disposition within a secure Subtitle D landfill. We also actively pursue environmentally sound alternatives to landfill dumping by shipping waste to facilities that convert waste to electrical power, a process known as energy-from-waste (EfW) or waste-to-energy (WtE). Some examples of non-regulated wastes we process and transfer include:
